Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Third Zion Baptist Church in Raceland. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in Young Men Benevolent Association Cemetery at Lafourche Crossing. He is survived by his wife, Olivia Thomas Triggs of Thibodaux; one son, James Triggs Jr. of Houma; two daughters, Carolyn T. Truxillo of Thibodaux and Rose Gant of Raceland; four sisters, Clara Triggs of Raceland, Neoma Coleman of New Orleans, Carrie Shelby and Theresa Boyd, both of Thibodaux; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Frances Allen Triggs; one daughter, Joyce T. Boyd; four brothers, Andrew, Joseph, Sidney and Elijah Triggs Jr.; and three sisters, Rosetta T. Folse, Albertha Triggs and Ida Coleman. He was a member of Third Zion Baptist Church and was retired from Soloco Construction.
