The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= September 17. 2004 12:00AM Lynus Dupre [Photo] Lynus Pierre Dupre, 82, a native of Montegut and resident of Chauvin, died at 7:35 a.m. Wednes-day, Sept. 15, 2004. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucille Portier Dupre of Chauvin; three daughters, Bonnie Domangue and husband, Aubrey, Lynette LeBlanc and husband, Hubert, of Chauvin and Nell Rodriguez and husband, Michael, of Houma; one brother, Ernest Dupre Jr. of Gonzales; three sisters, Adele Pellegrin of Chauvin, Lyie Simoneaux of Montegut and Genevieve Hebert of Houma; eight grandchildren, Carroll Domangue and wife, Debra, Burt Domangue and wife, Gina, Thomas Domangue and wife, Donna, Monica Breaux and husband, Ted, Melissa Lyons and husband, Chad, Michelle Pinell and husband, Dwayne, Jessica Frisella and husband, Joey, and Jodi Lirette and husband, Scott; and 12 great-grandchildren, Sierra, Justin, Travis, Jaci and Whitney Domangue, Derek Breaux, Tyler Breaux, Jace Lyons, Gabrielle Frisella, Kylie Lirette, Luke Lirette and Gage Pinell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Dupre Sr. and Josephine LeBoeuf Dupre; one brother, Duffy Dupre; and two sisters, Necia Robichaux and Elodie Price. He was a retired commercial fisherman and was a U.S. Army veteran in World War II. He served 38 months as a lineman during World War II in central India Burma. He was a member of V.F.W. Post No. 9608, American Legion Post No. 0380, 4th degree Knights of Columbus and Ward Seven Citizens Club. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
