Plaisance, 90, a native of Cut Off and resident of Galliano, died at 3 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano. Services will be at 11 a.m. at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Clementine Cheramie Plaisance; one son, Calvin J. Plaisance; one daughter, Elaine Plaisance Callais; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Justilian and Emma Lee Plaisance; three brothers, Sidney, Albert and Louis Plaisance; one half-brother, Justilian Plaisance; and five sisters, Louise Rodrigue Dufrene, Emily Pierce, Gladys Lassegne, Justilia "TeeYa" Esponge Charpentier and Alma Allemand. He was Catholic. He was a member of the Third and Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and was a retired oysterman and was second Louisiana Oyster King.
