Rosamond Jr., 77, a native of Poplar Creek, Miss., and resident of Houma, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. Religious services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. He is survived by his companion, Vicky Klingman of Houma; two sons, James Drew Rosamond of Lafayette, Colo., and wife, Peggy, and Robert W. Dismuke of Greenville, Miss.; one daughter, Sherry Rosamond of Boulder, Colo.; one daughter-in-law, Marianne Rosamond Matherne; one brother, Ozell Rosamond of Birmingham, Ala.; one sister, Maxine Pearson of Gray; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, James V. Sr. and Sherman L. Jennings Rosamond; one son, Rickie Rosamond; one infant daughter, Rosamond; and two brothers, Carmon Rosamond and Rueben Rosamond. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a great storyteller, jokester and was loved by many. He was Protestant. Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
