The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= October 31. 2004 12:00AM Lowell LeBlanc [photo] Lowell Joseph LeBlanc, 89, a native of Chauvin and resident of Houma, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2004. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by five daughters, Marla Porche and husband, Mike, Melanie Acosta and husband, Courtney, June Gauthreaux and husband, Paul, of Houma, Olenda Pertuit and husband, Gary, of Raceland, and Karen Cowart and husband, James, of Wiggins, Miss.; seven grandchildren, Jamie Cowart, Vicki Loper, Tammy Gillies, Kelly Pertuit, Cody Gauthreaux, Chanci Chauff and Ryan Pitre; four great- grandchildren, Rainey Loper, Katlyn Gillies, Hailey Gillies, and Cannon Gauthreaux. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Babin LeBlanc; his parents, Octave LeBlanc and Melanie Hebert LeBlanc; one son, Wayne Joseph LeBlanc; two brothers, Stanley and Albert LeBlanc; two sisters, Hattie Mazerac and Daisy Ledet; one grandchild, Candace Gauthreaux; and one great-grandchild, Landon Gauthreaux. He was a self employed fruit peddler for 40 years serving local bayou communities. He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
