Collins, 83, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, died at 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004. Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with graveside military services and Masonic rites in Cheramie Cemetery. He is survived by two sons, Michael J. Collins and Russell A. Collins; one brother, Julius Collins; two sisters, Velma Bouzigard and Bernice Collins; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Daigle Collins; his parents, Jack and Emilia Griffin Collins; and three sisters, Earline Kerley, Pearline Terrebonne and Volena Terrebonne. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a retired employee of Texaco with 27 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and Masons and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
