Ethel Melancon

Ethel Mabel Parker Melancon, 87, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, 
died at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home Chapel, 
with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Dudley Melancon and wife, Charlene, of Houma, and 
Barry Melancon and wife, Patty, of Rye, N.Y.; one daughter, Sharon Prevost and 
husband, Arnold, of Houma; one sister, Gladys Domingue of Metairie; six 
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley P. Melancon Sr.; her parents, 
Walter Parker and Alice Debat Parker; two brothers, Dudley and Walter Parker; 
and two sisters, Helen Bordelon and Ruth Riedie.

She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church.
