He is survived by his wife, Marion Picou Kurtz of Houma; two sons, Knute Kurtz and wife, Joyce, of Los Angeles and Kenrick Kurtz and wife, April, of Houma; three daughters, Kimmie K. Hall and husband, Clyde, of Hattiesburg, Miss., Agnes K. Bearden and husband, Ronnie, of Memphis, Tenn., and Anna K. Hudson and husband, Mike, of Columbus, Ga.; an adopted son, Jerry Kurtz and wife, Brenda, of Houma; and one brother, Douglas Kurtz of Montegut. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold V. Kurtz and Agnes Levron Kurtz; and one son, Kerwin Peter Kurtz. He was a retired postal clerk for the U.S. government and an active deacon at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was an assistant chaplain for Terrebonne General Medical Center, a Life member of D.A.V., V.F.W., Marine Corps League, Marine Corps Association, past president and member of Retired Federal Employees, International Order of Alhambra, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus A.J. Caillouet Council 336, Houma Council 1317 K of C and the American Diabetes Association. He was a U.S. Marine for five years and a veteran of the Korean War.
