Winslow, 81, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish and former resident of New Orleans, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at New Magnolia Baptist Church in Schriever. Religious services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Halfway Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Daisy Winslow; two sons, Rene and Herman Winslow Jr.; one daughter, Sandra Winslow; one brother, Johnny Winslow; seven sisters, Mable Walker, Daisy Harris, Rosenell Fletcher, Albertha Winslow, Hazel Gasery, Annie Mae Wallace and Carol Ballard; eight grandchildren, and one great- grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Charlie Winslow; three brothers, Lawrence, Earl and Welton Winslow; and five sisters, Clara Antoine, Ida Duckette, Elvina, Emily and Josephine Winslow. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a retired doctor's assistant at the Veterans Hospital in New Orleans.
