Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. He is survived by his wife, Helen Authement Labit of Houma; his mother, Marie DuBois Labit Breaux of Bayou Blue; two sons, Ricky Paul Labit and wife, Kim, and Ronnie Jerome Labit and companion, Betty; one daughter, Rhonda Claire Labit LeCompte and husband, Barry Sr.; seven brothers, Davis Labit of Florida, Ralph Labit and wife, Diane, of Bayou Blue, Roy Labit and wife, Elaine, of Arkansas, Francis Labit and wife, Olivia, of Houma, Joseph Labit and wife, Gail, of Bayou Blue, Philip Labit and wife, Arlene, of Houma, and Larry Labit and wife, Patty, of Tennessee; one sister, Betty Labit Steele of Houma; seven grandchildren, Lacy LeCompte Lirette, Barry LeCompte Jr., Leonard Labit, Amanda Labit, Richard Labit, Robert Labit and Lindsey Phillips; and one great-granddaughter, Madison T. Phillips. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Paul Labit; his stepfather, Lawrence J. Breaux; one son, Randy James Labit; one daughter-in-law, Jill Richard Labit; one brother, Johnny Labit; and one sister, Gloria Labit Gaston. He was a retired dispatcher with Dresser Atlas and was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War. He was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church.
