Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux, with burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Thibodaux. She is survived by three sons, Michael Hymel, Chuck Hymel and Brian Hymel; two daughters Mona Lisa Dutch and Gwendelyn Chiasson; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, O'Niel Joseph Hymel, her parents, Alford Oncale and Pauline Wendt Oncale, one son, Baby Joseph Hymel; four brothers, Alfred Oncale Jr., Henry Oncale, Phillip Oncale and Louis Oncale; and two sisters, Mary Lambry and Loretta Douglas. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW and a Eucharistic minister at St. Genevieve Catholic Church.
