Wendell E. Carter Sr., 50, a native and resident of Houma, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 
2004.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Resident Baptist 
Church in Houma. Religious services will be at noon Saturday at the church, with 
burial in Union Benevolent Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Linda D. Carter of Houma; his mother, Bernadine 
Carter of Houma; three sons, Wendell Carter Jr., Shaft Carter and Kendell 
Saulsberry of Houma; five daughters, Kanesha Johnson, Kami Saulsberry, Rasheeda 
Dark and Jyra Dark of Houma and Wykenia Jones of Baton Rouge; one sister, 
Jearnee Carter Dumas of Houma; four brothers, Charles IV, Bernard, Gregory and 
Torrey Carter, all of Houma; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Carter III.

He was a member of Residence Baptist Church.
