Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chauvin. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Colwart Blanchard of Chauvin; two sons, David Peter Blanchard and companion, Crystal Domingue, and Andy Jude Blanchard and companion, Jennifer Truxillo; two brothers, Norman Blanchard and wife, Emily, and Larry Blanchard and wife, Bertha, of Chauvin; one sister, Jean Blanchard Authement and husband, Jennings, of Chauvin; one grandchild, Hailey Blanchard of Chauvin; and one step-grandchild, Kyler Domingue of Chauvin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mangus Blanchard and Lizzy Lapeyrouse Blanchard. He was a fitter with Offshore Specialty Fabrication. He was outgoing and fun loving and always a jokester. He enjoyed fishing and was a loving family man. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
