Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greater New Salem Baptist Church. Wake service will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Southdown Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Wilton Welch of Maryland and Chester Welch of Houma; one daughter, Mildred Wolfe of Houma; one niece, Mildred Barton of Michigan; 30 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel Welch; her parents, Caroline Williams Franklin and Ducan Franklin; one grandson, Phillip Welch; one daughter, Louise Wolfe; five brothers; and one sister, Fannie Stovall. She was a homemaker and a member of Greater New Salem Baptist Church. Gertrude-Geddes Willis-Terrebonne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
