Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Eloi Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his companion, Ella Nora Gutierrez of Theriot; one son, Thaddeus "T.J." J. DeHart of Houma; three daughters, Rita Mae Cadiere of Houma, Beverly Ann D. Falgout of Bourg, and Mary Lee D. Ojeda and husband, Jesus, of Houma; two stepdaughters, Diana Liner and husband, Warren, and Roxann Bourg and husband, Parnell, of DuLarge; two sisters, Leola D. Lirette and Frances D. Liner of Theriot; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sanders DeHart and Bridget Luke DeHart; one son, Michael J. DeHart; two sons-in-law, Shelby Cadiere and Larry Falgout; two grandchildren; Dale and Alena Falgoust; two brothers, Ernest and Virgis DeHart; and two sisters, Ester D. Lovell and Enola D. Lirette. He was a retired boat captain with Macobar and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a former member of DuLarge Volunteer Fire Department and a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church.
