The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= December 15. 2004 12:00AM Karen Giroir [photo] Karen Griffith Giroir, 66, a native of Alvin, Texas, and resident of Houma, died at 8:42 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by her husband, Dudley Giroir; two sons, David Giroir and wife, Cheryl, and Jason Giroir and wife, Pauline; two daughters, Jan Breaux and husband, Henry Breaux Jr., and Jennifer Giroir and companion, Gregory Dicharry; her mother, Ida Griffith; one brother, Claude "Fred" Griffith and wife, Annette; and six grandchildren, Crystal Breaux, Henry Breaux III, Lindsay Giroir, Brooke Giroir, Matthew Giroir and Kalob Brassier. She was preceded in death by her father, Claude F. Griffith; and one sister, Mary Gayle Griffith. Her hobbies were reading, fishing, trawling, sewing and quilting. She was a member of many local organizations and was very patriotic and loved her country. She had a lot of love and compassion for people, and she loved her beautiful flower garden. Most of all, she loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She was retired from Patterson Real Estate and was a member of Grace Bible Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
