Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. He is survived by three sons, Stephen Smith and wife, Laura, of Gray, Edward Smith and wife, Rhonda, of Yorktown, Va., and Milton Smith Jr. and wife, Dolly, of Houma; one daughter, Belinda Hopkins and husband, Scott, of Ellisville, Miss.; three brothers, J.C. Smith of Bayou Blue, Clarence Smith Jr. and James Smith of Houma; one sister, Ruth Authement of Houma; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Mae LeBouef Smith; his parents, Clarence Smith Sr. and Lena Domangue Smith; one son, Wayne Smith; one brother, Alvin Smith; and one sister, Margie Guidry. He was a retired general superintendent with McDermott and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a 32nd Mason and a Shriners Motorcycle Escort. He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
