Granier Sr., 96, a native of Edgard, a longtime resident of Hammond and Ponchatoula and resident of Houma, died at noon Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond. Religious service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with interment in Greenlawn Mausoleum. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Vivian Simon Granier of Houma; one daughter and son-in-law, Janice G. and Charles Gruber of Mount Dora, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul C. Jr. and Carolyn Granier of Houma; two grandchildren, Paul C. Granier III of Plano, Texas, and Allison Granier Caro of Bourg; and four great-grandchildren, Brody, Mikaela, Danielle and Jonathan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emilienne Joseph and Delia Schmidt Granier; six brothers, Jack, Claude, Emile, Melvin, Norman and Eddie Granier; and two sisters, Esther Poche and Marie Bossier. He was a retired New York Life agent of 35 years with 60 years in the insurance business. He served on the board of directors at Ponchatoula Homestead and was a past president of the Kiwanis Club in Ponchatoula. He was a member and the Ponchatoula Volunteer Fire Deparment. He served on the city council in Ponchatoula. He was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond. Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
