Marcel Sr., 65, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Chauvin, died at 11:14 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004. Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chauvin. Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the hall, with burial in Rogers Cemetery. He is survived by two sons, Randy Marcel and wife, Kimberly "Kim," and Ray Marcel Jr.; two daughters, Sandra White and husband, Samuel Sr., and Tammy Dupre and husband, Robby; one brother, Elmer Marcel Sr.; four sisters, Malberine Bergeron, Shirley Blanchard, Betty Crochet and Jeraldine LeBoeuf; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mae Benoit Marcel; his stepfather, Edward A. Poiencot; one grandchild, Brandon Ray Marcel; four brothers, Aron, Eugene and Randsel Marcel and Arbrey Poiencot; and four sisters, Betty Jean Marcel, Orlean Guidry, Celena Rust and Vera Mae Dupre. He was a tugboat captain and a former member of the Knights of Columbus and Little Caillou volunteer fire department.
