Redel Guidry Sr.

Redel "Jr." "Uncle Elroy" Guidry Sr., 62, a native and resident of Chauvin, died 
Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at the Knights of 
Columbus Hall in Chauvin. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph 
Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Viola Trahan Guidry Carrere; three sons, Clark, 
Jeremie and Jacob Guidry; four brothers, Larry and Harris Guidry and Vernon and 
Eric Carrere; and two grandchildren, Jonathon and Dwayne "DJ" Guidry Jr.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Poiencot Guidry; his father, Redel 
Guidry; his stepfather, Stelay Carrere; two sons, Dwayne Sr. and Redel Guidry 
Jr.; and one brother, Errol Carrere.

He was a lifelong commercial fisherman and served in the U.S. National Guard. He 
enjoyed playing pool and being outdoors on the water boat riding.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help with funeral expenses are preferred.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
