Richard L. Werther, 68, a native of Brownwood, Texas, and resident of Houma, 
died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Samart Funeral Home. Memorial 
service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy F. Werther; two stepsons, Tony Ivy and Mike 
Ivy and wife, Ann, all of Houma; two daughters, Cheryl W. Callais of Kingston, 
Wash., and Cynthia W. Johnson and husband, Kenneth, of Houma; two stepdaughters, 
Peggy I. Hankins and husband, Stacy, of Arizona, and Deborah I. Richey and 
husband, Bob, of Anchorage, Alaska; 16 grandchildren; and three great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Margaret Baker Werther.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help with funeral expenses are preferred.
