Verna Chiasson

Verna Marie Aucoin Chiasson, 88, a native of Brule Guillot and resident of 
Thibodaux, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time 
Tuesday at Thibodaux Funeral Home Chapel. Religious service will be at 10 a.m. 
Tuesday at the chapel, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Percy Chiasson and wife, Rita, and Kenneth Chiasson 
and wife, Rosswella; one daughter, Barbara Daigle and husband, Darrel; one 
brother, Murphy Aucoin Sr.; her two best friend sisters, Dolores A. Plaisance 
and Anna Mae A. Martinolich; nine grandchildren, Lisa C. Hanegan, Preston and 
Brian Chiasson, Denise C. Kerby, Daniel and Dwane Daigle, Katie D. McDonald, and 
Elizabeth and Randy Chiasson; five great-grandchildren, Michael and Emily 
Hanegan, Jacob Daigle and Alexus and Kevin McDonald; and one step-great-
grandchild, Becca Bergeron.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fernand Chiasson; her parents, Willie 
and Celine Roger Aucoin; one infant son, Ray Chiasson; one brother, Elton 
Aucoin; and one sister, Ethel A. Andras.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great family historian 
and enjoyed working with her plants.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
