Visitation will be from 2 p.m. today until service time Monday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with interment in the church mausoleum. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Cheramie Pitre of Delcambre; his parents, Wilbert J. Pitre and Hilda Boudloche Pitre of Delcambre; two sons, Zachary Pitre and wife, Buffy, of Delcambre and Patrick Pitre of Delcambre; one daughter, Mary P. LeBlanc and husband, Kerry, of New Iberia; one brother, Bryan Pitre and wife, Sandra, of Delcambre; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, David John Pitre Jr. He was co-owner of Pitre Shipyard. He was also named Shrimp King in 2003 of the Shrimp Festival in Delcambre.
