Funeral services were scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Zachary. He is survived by three daughters, Claudia Simmons of Houma, Regina Edge Pugh of San Diego and Rhoda Obar of Los Angeles; two sons, Carl Williams of Hayward, Calif., and Dwight Williams of San Carlos, Calif.; two sisters, Rhoda Mae Williams of Baton Rouge and Annie Lou Riley of Houma; three brothers, Robert Williams of Zachary, Phillip Williams of Baton Rouge and Bunyan Williams of Zachary; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Betsy Williams; four brothers, Wiley, Johnny, Henry and Sylvester; one sister, Janie W. Tate; and one foster sister, Rosa Levy. He was a retired carpenter with San Francisco Naval Shipyard and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the American and Asiatic Pacific theaters. He was awarded the Good Conduct and Victory medals and was a member of the V.F.W.
