The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= January 16. 2005 12:47AM JB Garlington [Photo] JB Garlington, 87, a native of Pitkin and resident of Lockport, died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2005. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by two daughters, Betty G. LeBlanc and husband, Jeffrey LeBlanc Jr., and Sandra G. Degruise and husband, Blaine Degruise; and five grandchildren, Michelle LeBlanc, Ben LeBlanc and wife, Jessica, Jacob LeBlanc, Jon Degruise and Amanda Degruise. He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle M. Garlington; his parents, W.N. and Amanda M. Garlington; one brother, Newton Garlington; and three sisters, Vina Woodard, Cordia Smith and Rilla Lacaze. He was a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church and was a U.S. Army of World War II. He was a member of the 6th Armored Division, a veteran of the European Campaign, and participated in the Battle of the Bulge and the liberation of Bastogne. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 83 of Lockport and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post of Raceland. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lockport Lower or Lockport Upper elementary schools. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
