The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= January 31. 2005 12:00AM Kenneth Himel Sr. [Photo] Kenneth "Q-Ball" Himel Sr., 67, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Chackbay, died at 11:44 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Thibodaux Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, with burial in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Chackbay. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Katherine Toups Himel; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Jr. and Kristy Himel; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Charles Verdin; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Himel; one sister, Shirley Clemment; and one grandchild, Josh Verdin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleore and Adeline Himel; one infant grandson, Luke Joseph Verdin; and one brother, Shelby "Cocoon" Himel Sr. He was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed fishing and football. The thing he enjoyed most in life was his role as "Pops" to his grandson. He was dearly loved by all. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family for Masses are preferred. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
