Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 11:30 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the church with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by one son, Michael Detiveaux of Houma; four daughters, Susie D. Breaux and husband, Andre, Ginger D. Borque and husband, Howard, Sherry D. Otis and husband, Dennis, of Houma, and Holly D. Cope and husband, SM Sgt. Joel, of Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.; six brothers, Alton Detiveaux, Reynold Detiveaux, A.J. Detiveaux, Allen Detiveaux, Charles Detiveaux of Houma and Donald Detiveaux of Knoxville, Tenn.; one stepbrother, Dale Hughes of Shreveport; six grandchildren, Shawn Detiveaux, Bryce Borque, Victoria Detiveaux, Hailey Detiveaux, Wesley Cope and Tanner Cope; one great-grandson, Alex Detiveaux; and special family friends, Cathi and Amos Gautreaux, Angela Cretini, Glenn, Becky, Patty Fanguy, Ronald and Rhonda Lenain. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Rhodes Detiveaux, his parents, George and Violet Chauvin Detiveaux, two brothers, Irving Detiveaux and Rufus Detiveaux; and one sister, Georgia D. Martin. He was a retired pumper for Mobil Oil Company and an U.S. Air Force veteran. He was Past Grand Knight of St. Bernadette Knights of Columbus, he loved to hunt and fish and especially loved his family and friends. He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
