Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by four sons, Ronald Deroche and wife, Carmen, of Lafayette, Eugene "Gene" Deroche and wife, Diane, Lucius "Jay" Deroche Jr. and companion, Kendra, and Rodney Deroche and wife, Heather, all of Houma; two daughters, Merline Duplantis and husband, Camille, of Dulac and Elvina Gros and husband, Mark, of Bayou Blue; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Mary Cunningham Deroche; his parents, Prosper Deroche and Clothilde Gaston Deroche; one brother, Willard Deroche; one sister, Gertrude Domangue; three half-brothers, Ervin "Bill," Ronald and Sidney Hutcherson; six half-sisters, Cornelia Hutcherson, Angelic Guidry, Clara Hutcherson, Lydia Martinez, Lorina Price and Aldine Price. He was a retired surveyor with 37 years with Texaco and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
