The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= January 16. 2005 12:48AM Ludwig Candies [Photo] Ludwig "Doc" Paul Candies, 101, a native of Des Allemands and resident of Raceland, died at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church in Raceland. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Autin Candies; one son, L.T. Candies; three daughters, Nelda Candies, Patricia Candies Daigle and Connie Candies Breaux; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas Candies and Lena Christen Candies; one son, Richard Candies; four brothers, Gus, Nick, Otto Sr. and Frank Candies; and two grandchildren. He was Catholic and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
