Doiron, 84, a native of Houma and resident of Lafayette for the past 12 years, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, at her residence in Lafayette, surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Doiron Hill and husband, Michael, of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Belinda Hendricks of Lafayette, Brent E. Hill and wife, Jill, of Lafayette and Kelli Bertinot and husband Capt. Brad Bertinot, stationed in Budingen, Germany; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Mark Hill and Allison Louise Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonce C. Doiron; one son, Frank S. Picou; and one daughter, Barbara P. O'Toole. She was known by all as "Granny," and even until her death, retained her joyful spirit and loving heart. Her positive and caring disposition was evident each and every day, in all that she did, and she will be greatly missed. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
