The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= January 30. 2005 12:55AM Octave Dufrene Octave "Tive" Dufrene, 85, a native and resident of Raceland, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2005. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Mary's Natvity Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Breaux Dufrene; one son, O.J. Dufrene of Raceland; four daughters, Ruth Bergeron of Raceland, Cathy Lyle of Raceland, Darlene Dufrene of Lockport and Tammy Knight of Mississippi; one sister, Vivian Baudoin; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Leonise Champagne Dufrene; five brothers, Joseph "Joe," Ambrose "Bob," Oneziph, Cliffton and David Dufrene; and four sisters, Annette Dufrene, Meloway Dallimore, Marie Kidahl and Dorothy "Dot" Bergeron. He was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church and was a U.S. Army veteran.
