Paul Legendre Jr.

Paul "Joe" Legendre Jr., 83, a native of Lake Charles and resident of Thibodaux, 
died at 11:32 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux 
and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. 
Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph 
Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Rizan Legendre; three sons, Lt. Col. Paul J. 
Legendre III of Colorado Springs, Colo., Andre P. Legendre of Baton Rouge and 
Camille G. Legendre of Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Lisa L. Smayda of 
Palmer, Alaska, Renee L. Bourgeois of Baton Rouge and Michele L. Guidry of 
Thibodaux; one brother, John R. Legendre of Thibodaux; one sister, Murtis 
Trowbridge of Houston; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul J. and Augusta Rhorer Legendre; 
one brother, Waldo S. Legendre; and one sister, Catherine L. Toups.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 8906 and was a Deacon of 31 years 
for the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ the Redeemer 
Catholic Church or Edward Douglas White Memorial Fund.
