"Doc" Weller, 79, a native of Dewitt, Iowa, and resident of Thibodaux, died at 11:35 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at First United Methodist Church. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. He is survived by his companion, Janis Schoef; his former wife, Loretta Weller; two sons, Tim Weller of Baton Rouge and Dr. Ted Weller of Thibodaux; two daughters, Cindy Boudreaux of Fountain, Colo., and Wendy Baker of Napoleonville; one brother, Bill Weller of Colorado; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Weller; one son, Robert Weller Jr.; two brothers, Ernest and Vernon Weller; and three sisters, Irene, Lillian and Florence. He was a self-employed chiropractor for 52 years and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Unity Lodge No. 267 and served as secretary/treasurer for 25 years of the Chiropractic Association of Louisiana.
