The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= January 31. 2005 12:00AM Sidney Arceneaux [Photo] Sidney Joseph Arceneaux, 83, a native and resident of Houma, died at 9:25 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Gautreaux Arceneaux of Houma; two sons, Bobby Arceneaux and wife, Mary, of Houma and Gregory Arceneaux and wife, Sharon, of Chauvin; one daughter, Jeanette A. Hebert and husband, Wayne, of Houma; one brother, John Arceneaux of Houma; six grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clemile Arceneaux and Zelide Punch Arceneaux; five brothers, Whitney, Camille, Emile, Maurice and Elmore Arceneaux; and three sisters, Cora A. Verrett, Theresa A. Pierce and Fran A. Smith. He was a retired pumper for Texaco and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the V.F.W. and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
