The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= January 05. 2005 12:14PM Thomas Noblitt Thomas Havener Noblitt, 85, a native of Asheville, N.C., and resident of Houma, died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005. Graveside service will be held at a later date in Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tenn. He is survived by his former wife, Mary McCutcheon Noblitt of Houma; two sons, Bret Noblitt of Chattanooga and Clifton Noblitt of Jasper, Tenn.; two daughters, Mona Griffith of Lebanon, Va., and Margie S. Willis of Houma; two sisters, Jo Ann Young of Apex, N.C., and Elizabeth Scaggs of Knoxville, Tenn.; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jasper Noblitt and Fannie Duncan Havener Noblitt. He was a retired electrical engineer with Dravo Corp. and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
