Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at New Zion Baptist Church in Houma. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Blue Lilly Cemetery. He is survived by his companion, Tabitha Tillman of Houma; his father, Dalton James and wife, Tracy, of Thibodaux; four sons, Al Jerome James Jr. and Alvin James, both of Houma, and Al and Travis Craig, both of New Orleans; one stepson, Deronte Tillman of Houma; four daughters, Aljenna James and Cierra Craig, both of Houma and Angela Craig and Daniell Craig, both of New Oleans; three stepdaughters, Alexias, Tanesha and Tamesha Tillman, all of Houma; nine brothers, Kenneth James of Raceland, Keith, Elroy, Donald, Andrew, Dalton, Randy and Harry James, all of Thibodaux, and Derrick James of Houma; seven sisters, Vera Thompson of Labadieville, Calamity James, Joyce Gage, Alberta, Cynthia, Audrey Mae and Valery James, all of Thibodaux; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Brooks James; one brother, Jessie James; and one sister, Barbara James. He was Baptist.
