The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= February 16. 2005 12:05PM Carroll Acosta Carroll Samuel Acosta, 78, a native of Napoleonville and resident of Lafourche Crossing, died at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Landry's Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Miriam Aupied Acosta; one son, Carroll "Sammy" Acosta Jr. and daughter-in-law, Charlotte Knoblock Acosta; three daughters, Christine A. Tabor and son-in-law, Allen Tabor Jr., Susan A. Borne and son-in- law, Clifford Borne Jr. and Patti A. Knoblock and son-in-law, Philip Knoblock; three brothers, Lynn, Roland and Homer Acosta; three sisters, Ruby A. Kraemer, Margie A. Himel and Joan Rose A. Daigle; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Acosta Sr. and Judith Bergeron Acosta; two brothers, Claude Acosta and Clarence Acosta Jr.; three sisters, Pamela Acosta, Marie Louise Acosta Bernard and Esther Acosta Trosclair; and one great-grandchild, Maria Elizabeth Johnston. He was a retired welder from Thomson Machinery and a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He loved music and spending time with his family. Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
