Edna Martinez

Edna Marie Bertrand Martinez, 75, a native of Crowley and resident of Thibodaux, 
died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005.

Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday at Thibodaux Funeral Home and from 
9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in 
Chackbay. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph 
Cemetery in Thibodaux.

She is survived by her husband, George Martinez; one son, James L. Strother Jr.; 
one daughter, Eulalie "Lou" A. Gaspard; one brother, Velia Bertrand Jr.; two 
sisters, Una Henry and Betty Langford; four grandchildren; and one great-
grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Velia and Elzina Abshire Bertrand; and 
two brothers, Robert and James Bertrand.

In lieu of flowers, donations for Masses are preferred.
