The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= February 28. 2005 12:31PM Elgin Bourgeois [Photo] Elgin "Brother" Bourgeois, 72, a native of Raceland and resident of Houma, died at 4 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Christine Mokrycki Bourgeois of Houma; one son, Michael S. Bourgeois and wife, Connie, of Houma; one daughter, Leslie A. Bourgeois of Dallas; one sister, Doris Harrington of Lafayette; and two grandchildren, Alex M. Bourgeois and Kasey Firmature. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moise Bourgeois and Lucille Matherne Bourgeois. He was a retired salesman with Svaboda Distributors and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and Korean War. He was an avid fisherman, loved cooking and was a notorious animal lover. He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, Masses or donations to Bayou Region Hospice, 195 Corporate Dr., Houma, La. 70360, are preferred. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
