Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at the Knights of Columbus hall in Chauvin. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Merrill Mazarac Foret; one son, Harold Foret Jr.; 10 daughters, Darlene Defelice, Connie Foret, Tina Lyons, Melissa Lyons and husband, Joel Sr., Samantha Marcel and husband, Elmer Jr., Anna Lyons and husband, Jamie, Patty Naquin and husband, Tracy Sr., Leslie Lecompte and husband, Chris Sr., Michelle Matherne and husband, Michael Sr., and Mary Foret; four brothers, Loney, O'Neal, Leroy and Junius Foret of Chauvin; five sisters, Eula Foret, Helen Naquin, Ouita Lecompte, Beatrice Gisclair and Notesia Bunker; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Josephine Blanchard Foret; one daughter, Belinda Foret; one grandson, Derek Eschete; four brothers Jervis Foret, Lawrence and Clarence Authement Sr. and Eulan Foret; and four sisters, Dorita Chauvin, Odelia Sevin, Helena Authement and Florence Chauvin. He was Catholic. He retired from Cenac Towing Co. where he was a boat captain for 28 years.
