Duval Champagne Jr., 80, a native of Theriot, former resident of Houma and resident of Lake Arthur, died at 12:07 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by one son, Joseph Champagne III and wife, Barbara, of Slidell; two daughters, Charlene C. Hay and husband, Harold, of Lake Arthur and Pamela C. Monceaux and husband, Garland Jr., of Scottown, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Sarah Kennedy and husband, Mack, of Moss Bluff and Betty Giles of Alexandria; one sister, Ione Bonvillain of Houma; nine grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Foster Champagne; his parents, Joseph Duval Champagne and Albina Pellegrin Champagne; and his grandparents, Vital and Lelia Pellegrin and Theodore and Laura Champagne. He was a retired tool pusher with Superior Oil Company. He was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur and a former member of the Krewe of Flames.
