Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Marie Pellegrin Hebert of Houma; two sons, Philton David Hebert and wife, Nancy, of Rowlette, Texas, and Jerome A. Hebert and wife, Donna, of Houma; four daughters, Ellen M. Hutchinson and husband, David, Sheila Pellegrin and husband, Hubert "Beady", Phyllis Morris and husband, Ronnie, of Houma, and Ann M. Dietzen and husband, Chris, of Lafayette; one brother, Dennis Hebert of Houma; one sister, Daisy Champagne of Houma; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abbie Hebert and Angelique Lirette Hebert; one daughter, Evelyn Ann Hebert; and one brother, Raymond Hebert. He was a retired deputy sheriff of Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office of 20 years and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a former POW of World War II for 1,221 days and was in the Battan Death March. He was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion.
