Rebecca Welch

Rebecca "Becky" Mason Welch, 78, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of 
Chauvin, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Mt. Calvary Baptist 
Church. Funeral service will be at noon Saturday at the church, with burial in 
Bisland Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Wellington Welch Sr. of Chauvin; one son, Regis 
Welch and wife, Janice, of Houma; three daughters, Maude Verdin, Bobbie Welch 
and Jackie Scales and husband, Tim, all of San Diego; one brother, Daniel Mason 
of Chauvin; one sister, Lorena Smith of Chauvin; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Katie and Anderson Mason; four sons, 
Wellington Jr., Arthur, Roger and Anthony Welch; two brothers, Samuel and Paul 
Mason; and three sisters, Evline Matthews, Sarah Smith and Katie Mae Harrell.

She was a retired cook for Terrebonne Parish School Board and was a member of 
Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
