Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Falgout Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife, Iris Champagne Samanie; one son, Kevin Wayne Samanie; one daughter, Kristy Samanie; his mother-in-law, Mae "Mudd" Champagne; two brothers, Mike Samanie Sr. and wife, Brenda, and Chris Samanie; four sisters, Judy Cosby and husband, Roy, Cheryl Samanie and companion, Raymond Callais, Darlene Naquin and Janet Reiley; brother-in-law of, Donald Champagne and wife, Rosie, Ronald Champagne and wife, Cheryl, James Champagne and wife, Jenny, Steve Champagne and wife, Charlotte; and Mary Ann Champagne; one granddaughter, Kamryn Lyn Samanie; and his godchildren, Tina Samaha, Troy Toups, Mike Samanie, Jessica Ledet and Kristen Boudreaux. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivy Paul Jr. and Ruth Porche Samanie; his father-in-law, Ira P. Champagne; his grandparents, Ivy Samanie Sr. and Angel Samanie and Liley Porche Sr. and Inez Porche; and two sisters, Brenda Samanie Martin and Joy Samanie. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family to help with funeral expenses are preferred. He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
