"Coonie" Luke Jr., 76, a native of New Orleans and resident of Bourg, died at 8:40 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2005. Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann Catholic Church, with burial in St. Elie Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Lois Hebert Luke of Bourg; one son, Albert J. "Tut" Luke III and wife, Amy, of Chauvin; three daughters, Debra Falgout and husband, Blaine, Lori Rowley and husband, Roy, of Houma and Joni Fanguy and husband, Michael, of Mt. Hermon; three brothers, Roland Luke and wife, Marie, of Bayou Blue, Howard Luke and wife, Bobbie, of Bourg and Rudy Luke and wife, Rebelee, of Gretna; two sisters, Ruth Deroche and husband, Lera, of Bayou Blue and Dorothy "Telou" Robichaux of Bourg; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Luke Sr. and Stella Fanguy Luke; and one brother, Ray Luke Sr. He was a retired tool pusher with Noble Drilling Company and a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church.
