Bessie Morris						[Photo]

Bessie Gilliland Morris, 95, a native of Golden, Miss., and resident of Houma, 
died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2005.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to funeral time 
Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday 
at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

She is survived by one son, William C. "Bill" Morris and wife, Neva, of Houma; 
one daughter, Betty Jo Cenac and husband, Carroll, of Houma; seven 
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Morris Sr.; her parents, Ira 
Buchannon Gilliland and Cleo Patra Gilliland; two brothers, Burl Gilliland and 
Buck "Weaver" Gilliland; and three sisters, Cortel Gilliland, Rubel Gilliland 
and Sally Vista Gilliland.

She was a homemaker and a parishioner of First United Methodist Church.

Duplantis, Leslie Mora, Christopher "Chris" Morris and James Crittenden Cenac; 
11 great-grandchildren, Joanne Barker, Thomas Ray Cenac, Stephen Michael Cherry, 
Danielle Rogers, Lane Rogers, Eric Rogers, Richard Galbreath Jr., Zachary 
Duplantis, Mia Bourg, Jason Paul Cenac and Brett J. Hebert; and two great-great-
grandchildren, Drake Austin Authement and Destin Alice Authement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Morris Sr.; her parents, Ira 
Buchannon Gilliland and Cleo Patra Gilliland; two brothers, Burl Gilliland and 
Buck "Weaver" Gilliland; and three sisters, Cortel Gilliland, Rubel Gilliland 
and Sally Vista Gilliland.

She was a homemaker and a parishioner of First United Methodist Church.
