Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Boudreaux Carrere of Dulac; his mother, Cora Luke Carrere of Houma; one son, Lynn Carrere Sr. and wife, Nolia, of Dulac; three daughters, Jenny Duplantis and husband, Jacob Sr., Elizabeth "Liz" Verrett of Houma and Tammy Pellegrin of Dulac; two brothers, Frank Carrere of Houma and Ernest "Boy" Carrere of Dulac; two sisters, Lois Price of Dulac and May Breaux of Houma; 11 grandchildren, Brandi Bourg, Lynn Carrere Jr., Kizzi Carrere, Jacob Duplantis Jr., Dustin Duplantis, Amy Marmande, April Parfait, Darrell Verrett Jr., Amanda Verrett, Allie Pellegrin and Kevin Pellegrin Jr.; and five great- grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bourg, Lexi Bourg, Tristan Duplantis, Joshua Marmande and Molly Marmande. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Carrere; two brothers, Delvin Carrere and Ira Carrere Sr.; and one sister, Alice Carrere. He was a retired fisherman and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 4752, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 7722, Holy Family Usher Society and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a loving person who always had a smile for everyone, all will miss his smile. He loved his family very much. He was a self-taught musician who loved to play his guitar and to sing. He was a member of the Cajun Mix Band. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
