Wake service will be from noon to service time Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Golden Meadow. Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the church. He is survived by his former wife, Louverda Charpentier Chabert and their sons and daughters-in-law, Louis "Bus-ter" and Kathleen Chabert, Scotty and Jude Chabert, Tony and Julie Chabert; and daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara "Bobbie" C. and Philip Chiasson, Kathy C. and Bobby Rousse and Dolly C. and Jimmy Williford; his wife, Rosalie Chabert, and their sons, Michael Chabert and Sammy Chabert; two brothers, Milton Pitre and Jerry Caime; one sister, Lucy Leaycraft; 19 grandchildren, Chuckie Chiasson, Sonya C. Daig-neault, Nicholas Chiasson, Peter Rousse, Wade Rousse, Laura R. Engemann, Davy Chabert, Matthew Chabert, Lauree Chabert, Tracy W. Hale, Jipper Williford, Sonny Williford, Joshua Williford, Scotty "Boy" Chabert, Renee Chabert, Wendy C. Reggio, Kristy C. Taylor, Lacey Chabert and T.J. Chabert; and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Norbert Chabert; his mother, Argentina Delice Chabert; one brother, Sen. Leonard J. Chabert; and one grandson, Benjamin Chabert. He was a boat owner, rancher and commercial fisherman. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the South Lafourche Nursing Home Large T.V. fund or the American Heart Association. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
