Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Peter Baptist Church in Montegut. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in Bisland Cemetery. He is survived by two sons, Rudolph Preston Jr. and wife, Angelina, of Houma, and Clayton Preston and wife, Valarie, of New Orleans; four daughters, Janet Fitchue and husband, Eugene, of Avondale, Shelia Watson and husband, Aaron, of Chauvin, Pamelia McKay and husband, Issac, of Houma and Sharonlyn Vincent and husband, Junius, of Houma; three brothers, Warren Payne and wife, Patricia, of Houma, Leonard Payne and wife, Gladys, of Montegut and Nathan Payne of Ohio; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Carter Preston; his parents, Ruby and Dora Preston; one daughter, Regina Preston Morris; five sisters, Shirley Fleming, Marguerite Jones, Yvonne Harding, Elsie Preston and Lucille Walker; and one great-grandchild, Elijah Fry. He was a retried body/fender worker for Southern Motors Body Shop. He was a deacon at St. Peter Baptist Church, a member of the Blaine C. Clay Lodge No. 14, Terrebonne Lions Club, Southern Quarterback Club and Super Twenty Social Club.
