Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at Berwick United Methodist Church, with burial in Berwick Cemetery. He is survived by three daughters, Eljean Chauvin Nesmith of Berwick, Diane Bridges and husband, Earl, of Pass Christian, Miss., and Judy Nini of Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Ann Darnell and husband, Harris, of Lafayette; one brother, Wallace Carline of Morgan City; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Ann Carline; his parents, Clayton Carline and Dora Persilver Carline; one son, Ivan J. Carline; five brothers; and three sisters. He was Methodist.
